Homely reaffirms their commitment to real estate agents

Homely.com.au has reaffirmed their stance as an agent-friendly real estate portal, confirming today they will continue as an agent-only listing platform.

As an industry-backed property portal, Homely notes they are an advocate for the betterment of the real estate industry and all those it services.

“We believe it’s in the best interests of the industry and consumers for online real estate listings to come from and be controlled by qualified real estate agents,” Homely’s Head of Industry, David Webb, said.

“This belief has always been central to our mission, and we won’t allow consumers to directly list their properties for sale or lease on our site.

“Typically, direct listings from consumers are published without agent insights and marketing expertise that would allow them to reach and attract the right audience.

“They present as an inexpensive, band-aid solution, that sees consumers often negating the money they ‘saved’ not employing an agent by achieving a lesser result.

“So, we maintain that giving landlords and vendors a direct listing option isn’t in anyone’s best interests.

“After working as an agent myself, and closely with agents for the last decade, I know the huge amount of knowledge and work that goes into the successful sale and letting of properties,” Mr Webb continued.

“I’m very proud to be part of a property portal that celebrates and values this hard-work and experience, and will always have the back of agents,” Mr Webb added.

Homely was founded and launched in 2014 by Melbourne-based brothers Jason and Adam Spencer, with the mission to help people find the perfect place to call home.

From launch, Homely has offered a free-to-list option, which allowed the site to acquire the majority of property listings Australia-wide.

Optional low-cost branded Homely listings, with extra bells and whistles, are also available for real estate agents wanting to boost their campaigns.

Homely’s Co-Founder, Jason Spencer said, he stood with the industry and fully committed to being an agent-friendly platform, where only real estate professionals could provide listings to the site.

“We will continue working closely with the real estate community to strive for the betterment of the industry and keep offering innovative tools to help agents connect with more sellers, landlords, buyers and renters.

“From our Sold Hub to Platinum Properties to Agent Showcases to our no third-party ad policy, we designed our site and products from day one to allow agents and their listings to shine to deliver the best results to vendors and landlords,” Mr Spencer said.

“We can’t wait to get our newest products into the hands of agents in 2021 to support, as we always have, the business needs of agents and property managers moving forward.”
