Actress Andie MacDowell Lists Silver Lake property for just under $4 million

Actress Andie MacDowell has put her Silver Lake property in Eastside Los Angeles up for sale, asking just under US$4 million.

This move comes less than two years after she acquired the Storybook Tudor residence in a competitive bidding process, paying $100,000 more than the current listing price in November 2021, according to the Robb Report.

Built in 1928, the recently renovated two-story house sits on a compact plot and is shielded from the road by a well-landscaped yard and tall cypress trees.

The 315sq m interior includes five bedrooms and four bathrooms, furnished with neutral colours and blonde hardwood floors.

The living space offers high ceilings and an abundance of natural light.

The main level features a spacious living room, complete with a wood-burning fireplace framed by veined marble and a large Palladian fanlight window.

Adjacent to it is a formal dining room with another sizeable window and an eye-catching chandelier.

The modern kitchen comes equipped with high-end Miele appliances, an eat-in island, and La Cornue range.

It also features marble backsplashes and countertops, echoing the living room’s fireplace.

A curving staircase leads to the upper level, which houses a family/media room that offers panoramic views of the Silver Lake Reservoir.

The primary bedroom suite contains a sitting area, a walk-in closet, and an opulent bathroom fitted with dual vanities, an oval soaking tub, and a glass-encased shower.

The outdoor space is enclosed by a fence and landscaped with native California plants.

A small pool, designed by local landscape firm Terremoto, adds to the property’s charm.

A two-car garage with a converted loft provides an additional space for relaxation and entertainment.

Alongside this property, the 65-year-old actress, originally from South Carolina, owns a vacation home in Montana. Last year, she sold another property in Los Angeles’s Highland Park neighbourhood for $2.7 million.
