A top-performing Queensland agent has set a personal record, selling 236 properties in the past 12 months, all via the Market Buy online offer management platform.
Chris Gilmour, of All Properties Group, said he had been using Market Buy for some time, but last year took the extra step of employing the method for every single property he sold.
“I had never previously cracked 200 sales,” Mr Gilmour explained.
“My previous personal best was 187, but using Market Buy exclusively I managed to increase that by 26.2 per cent.”
Mr Gilmour currently ranks among Queensland’s top performers, and was last year named the Real Estate Institute of Queensland’s Residential Salesperson of the Year for southeast Queensland, based on settled commissions and transactions.
“I have long been a Market Buy user due to its ease of use and the transparency it offers both vendors and buyers,” Mr Gilmour said.
“But last year I made the decision to sell every single property through Market Buy, which opened up the ability to list and sell more stock.”
Mr Gilmour noted he had achieved the increase without incurring any extra financial outlay and without the need for additional staff.
“The efficiencies are huge,” he stated.
“No extra staff were required, Market Buy fees are VPA and I have still managed to increase my capacity.”
Mr Gilmour said key to this efficiency was the transparency of the system and the inbuilt buyer management.
“Buyer management is so much easier. The platform has everything that buyers need to make an offer in the moment.”
Market Buy Chief Executive Officer John Hellaby congratulated Mr Gilmour on his incredible achievement, noting it was a great example of how the online offer management platform could empower agents to embrace efficiency and scale.
He also noted the popularity of Market Buy was indicative of the fact real estate agents’ roles were changing.
“Moving forward, agents will need to embrace the idea they are a media company, and their job is marketing,” he said.
“Their primary mission is to drive buyers to the property with marketing, manage them and keep them engaged.
“With Market Buy, agents can engage with buyers and sellers digitally, manage offers digitally, and because the buyer and seller can see the volume of offers and what offers are being made, they are far more trusting of the agent in the negotiation process.”
Mr Gilmour added the platform had provided him with benefits beyond an increase in transactions, including improved lifestyle and a greater work/life balance.
“I no longer work weekends. Last year I didn’t do opens at all, instead relying on virtual inspections then private inspections with interested, qualified buyers,” Mr Gilmour said.
“I often watch other agents in the office drive contracts around until 10pm at night and can’t believe the success I have achieved this past year is so simple and so easy, giving me back so much time.
“I have to wonder why I ever did it any other way.”
