Acclaimed singer-songwriter Amy Shark has shifted her base from the Gold Coast to Sydney but surprised fans by investing near the New South Wales/Queensland border.
Shark, an eight-time ARIA award-winner, and her husband Shane Billings, who is also her business manager, have purchased a lavish $2.1 million property in Casuarina on the Tweed Coast.
The sale was facilitated by LJ Hooker Kingscliff, which had initially listed the home for a price range between $2.195 million to $2.35 million, according to realestate.com.au.
This sophisticated single-level home comes with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
It’s located a mere 200m from Casuarina Beach and is perfectly positioned between Kingscliff and Cabarita Beach.
Built in 2017, the home is designed to merge indoor and outdoor living spaces seamlessly.
The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living areas extend through custom sliding doors to a meticulously designed lawn featuring a covered barbecue area, a swimming pool, and an in-ground fire pit.
Shark’s recent social media updates reveal that the fire pit has already seen some action, with young family members enjoying roasted marshmallows.
In a video update to her 225,000 followers, Shark announced her move to Sydney, sharing views from a rooftop alfresco area in Potts Point that offers a glimpse of the Opera House.
“Here’s an update! I moved to Sydney. I love u, I miss u. More soon,” she posted.
Following their move, Shark and Billings are leasing out their former Gold Coast home for $2,300 a week.
The four-bedroom riverfront property in Broadbeach Waters, which they bought for $2.25 million in 2018, comes with an outdoor entertaining space, a swimming pool, and an 8m pontoon.
Tenants may bring pets, and the rent includes lawn and garden maintenance as well as pool service.
As of the latest data, the median house price in Casuarina stands at $2.09 million, a decline of 0.5 per cent over the past year. Shark and Billings met in 2007 while working at the Gold Coast Titans; she was a video editor and he was a financial manager.
