We Are Real Estate

Ashleigh Goodchild: Pushing boundaries

Opening her business at age 23 was a big step, and 14 years into the industry SOCO Realty’s Ashleigh Goodchild says it’s still important to keep learning

On getting into real estate
After studying naturopathy and accumulating way too many massage prac hours, I decided to get a job as a receptionist in a real estate office while I finished off my study. Turns out, real estate gets really busy and I got promoted before I finished the massaging hours.

The happiest moment in my career
Opening up my own business at 23 years old and having the flexibility with children.

The most memorable moment
Recently it was an apartment that had been furnished by a local interior designer. It is in one of the first complexes built in West Perth. It was memorable because the owner gave us full trust In the process and has become a friend for life.

Best advice she’s received
From Tom Panos: Why the f*** would you care what they think. Do you value their opinion more than your own?

Biggest challenge
The biggest challenge is the speed in which the industry is moving and the uncertainty of the market. I make sure that I go to nearly every course I can and keep the business and myself moving forward constantly, even if it is slow.

Change for good?
More consistent laws between states.
