In response to Australian Capital Territory’s strong development activity and emerging population growth, Belle Property Commercial has established Belle Property Retail Canberra.
With a key focus on leasing and sales of mixed-use developments the office will be led by Director, Nathan Dunn, a highly respected identity in the ACT commercial property industry, and who has the backing of retail property expert and Head of Belle Property Commercial, Michael Hanscomb.
“Nathan is one of the leading leasing executives in Canberra and was a perfect choice to lead our Belle Property Retail Canberra operation,” said Mr Hanscomb.
“In my view there is a real gap in the ACT market of quality agency strategy and delivery of mixed-use and retail development. With our national network and track record we believe, we add real value across the market to developers and landlords.”
Although largely focused on servicing the burgeoning retail sector, the initial phase of Belle Property Retail Canberra will also include some specialist brokerage and project office leasing service to key clients.
“The phenomenal growth of the Canberra market, coupled with the boutique feel of the Belle Property brand, will provide our customers with an offering not currently available in the ACT,” says Mr Dunn.
“These factors, coupled with brand-wide obsession with the customer, gives me incredible confidence that Belle Property Retail Canberra will resonate with the market.”
ACT’s mixed-use and retail market is undergoing dramatic changes with unprecedented construction underway (or planned) in ACT; the Arts Precinct on Kingston’s Foreshore, the Republic Precinct in Belconnen, Wova in Woden, as well as a multi-use development planned for Block 12, Section 63 in Canberra’s city centre, to name a few. With the global accolades still trickling in for the award-winning New Acton precinct, and encouraging economic indicators, many property developers are turning towards precinct-planning that blurs the line between work and play.
Leading international and national brands, such as H&M, MUJI, Nike, Under Armour, ASICS, Mecca Maxima, Jurlique, LÓccitane, Gelato Messina, Zeus Greek Street and Lindt have already committed to the ACT market and we see many more quality brands following suit.
Such significant movement in the retail, commercial and residential markets has enabled a premium brand like Belle Property Commercial to enter the ACT market. Belle Property has already made in-roads in the residential sector with Belle Property Kingston. They have outgrown their first office within 24 months’ and firmly entrenching their reputation as a preferred agent for the premium market. With the addition of a commercial business, the brand now has the capacity to provide an end-to-end service to mixed-use clients; with the capability to sell and lease both their residential and commercial product.
“Canberra and the greater ACT is a very strategic market for the Belle Property Group as a whole,” says Mr Hanscomb.
“Our residential arm of the business in Kingston is performing extremely well and the Belle Property brand resonates very well with the local market, by coming into the market with Belle Property Retail Canberra it indicates how dedicated we are to growing our commercial and residential footprint in this market.”
