National Property Managers Day is July 23, raising awareness of the challenges property managers face and celebrating their hard work.
The celebrations recognise the sterling efforts that residential and commercial property managers everywhere have put in during the past 16 months since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Real Estate Institute of Australia President (REIA), Adrian Kelly said this year’s celebration comes at a time when there are many distressed tenants as well as landlords struggling in lockdowns.
“There are an estimated 2.7 million rentals in Australia with 80 per cent of these properties managed by our property managers.”
“Approximately 27 per cent of Australians live in private rentals paying around $49 billion per annum,” he said.
Mr Kelly said that property management is a field proud to employ many women.
“Many people don’t realise that women make up 67 per cent of the property management workforce and that these property managers can be at the forefront of dealing with social issues like domestic violence.”
“Today is about thanking all of our property managers for the role that they play in helping Australians into homes – especially in the current phase of the COVID-19 pandemic we are facing.”
