Di Jones adopts Pound Paws

The pitter-patter of little feet was heard around the offices of Di Jones on Friday with a visit from two rescue puppies from charity Pound Paws.

Di Jones CEO Rob Ward said the aim of Pound Paws is to encourage the public to adopt puppies online and discourage backyard breeders that contribute to the oversupply of dogs and cats in Australia.

“A visit from Wookie, a Lhasa Apso crossed with a Maltese and Jalepeno, a Kelpie cross, meant it was an exciting morning for our Di Jones Woollahra office and Schumann Sands Team who are proud supporters of Pound Paws,” Mr Ward said.

Di Jones Sales Agent Samuel Schumann said being a family business, the Schumann Sands Team truly appreciate how much love and happiness pets can bring to a family.

“Having assisted many families in the sale of their homes, many of whom have had pets or have expressed interest in wishing to add a furry friend to their family, the Schumann Sands Team saw a wonderful opportunity to help promote a fantastic charity which is close to our heart.

“The work that Brittany and her team at Pound Paws does, is second to none and a cause that the Schumann Sands Team are so proud to support,” Mr Schumann said.

Pound Paws founder Brittany Bloomer said Pound Paws is an Australian charity that assists with the re-homing process of pets in Australian pounds and rescue centres.

“It provides an online search platform, which allows users to find their dream pet. Our mission is to educate the Australian public about the importance of choosing to adopt instead of shop, as well as help out rescue groups and pounds,” Ms Bloomer said.

“Pound Paws is a champion of social media and we encourage everyone to follow their Facebook page and find out today how they can help dogs and cats in need of a home,” Mr Ward added.

Pound Paws provided pups to Di Jones office from Sydney Dog’s & Cats Home, which is a rescue group which established in 1946, they are also a no-kill rescue, which opens its doors to over 3300 pets each year.
