Di Jones Real Estate has appointed Melissah Kenny, formally of REA to the newly created role of Digital & Social Media Specialist as part of an expansion of its marketing team.
Di Jones General Manager Kylie Walsh said the agency aims to be innovative and believes staying at the forefront of the social space is essential.
“That’s why we created the position,” Ms Walsh said. “Not only does Melissah have a real estate background, but she also has the benefit of having worked for REA as realestate.com.au’s Key Account Manager for the Eastern Suburbs and is a specialist in digital and social media.
“We need to make sure that Di Jones is connecting with its audience via social media and mobile, funnelling consumers through to Di Jones’ listings via a number of channels, not just listing portals. It’s about appearing where people are looking and reaching a wider audience more quickly,” Ms Walsh said.
Ms Kenny said she found the role attractive because of the agency’s innovative approach, led from the top by Di Jones CEO Rob Ward.
“While lots of agencies are using social media, not many have a dedicated digital strategy in place.” Ms Kenny said.
“There is a real opportunity available to be an innovator within the industry by embracing and leveraging the benefits that digital and social media have to offer.
“With all the potential in this space to do so much more, this role has been designed to take things to the next level,” she said.
Ms Kenny will be focusing on promoting the Di Jones brand, assisting agents with their brand as well as promoting individual properties.
“I will be bring a more robust framework and thoughtful strategy to Di Jones’ social media,” Ms Kenny said.
In addition to the Digital & Social Media Specialist role, Di Jones will also be appointing a specialist property marketer.
