Riki Tawhara and Damian Camera have joined forces with Ray White promising clients will have a direct communication line to them, as directors, as their point of difference in the eastern suburbs market.
The Announcement:
EASTERN suburb locals and high-performing real estate professionals Riki Tawhara and Damian Cameron (pictured above) have partnered with Australasia’s leading property agency Ray White.
The experienced agents said the move represented the perfect opportunity for the two to take the next step in their careers.
“Bondi Junction is in the heart of the eastern suburbs and basing ourselves there allows central access all across the peninsula,” Mr Tawhara said.
“We wanted to make the move to the leading agency in Australia. We’ve seen the progress of the group in the eastern suburbs and the successful Ray White businesses making their mark in the area.
“There’s a huge opportunity in the area and with the support of Australia’s largest agency, we are well placed to take advantage of it.”
Mr Cameron is a proud born and bred eastern suburbs local. He has spent his life in Bondi Junction, growing up in Queens Park and attending nearby Waverley College.
“Bondi Junction is a very family friendly and desirable area. If you can’t get into the beachside suburbs then it’s the next best thing,” Mr Cameron said.
“It also has some of the best schools in the city. It’s a great place if you are lucky enough to grow up there.
“And now the biggest agency in the country is focusing on it, with Riki and myself at the forefront.”
Mr Cameron went straight from school to real estate, opening his first business in 2013 with a business partner then striking out on his own a few years later.
Mr Tawhara began his career as a buyer’s agent in the western suburbs, catering to investors from Sydney’s east. He then made the switch to real estate, leveraging his experience working with buyers to excel in the industry. In their new roles, Mr Cameron will focus on property management while Mr Tawhara will grow the sales team.
The two real estate experts said they partnered together because their skill sets complement each other.
“I am good at mentoring and getting the best out of people. I enjoy running a sales team and understand what works and what doesn’t work,” Mr Tawhara said.
“I have worked both sides of the table and am one of the only agents in the east that has come from a buyer’s agent background so I know how important it is to nurture buyers.
“After school, I went into the navy and it taught me discipline and how to manage people, it’s the two most important things I’ve taken away from my military career.”
Meanwhile, Mr Cameron credits his successful career to his drive and ambition.
“I learned young that if you want to get far then you need to make big leaps. Ever since then I’ve known that you have to be a leader but also guide people,” Mr Cameron said.
“There is no point holding anyone back, if your people succeed, then you succeed.
“I also bring a lot of work ethic and genuine enthusiasm to the job. It’s why Riki and I work well together.”
The Bondi Junction community is also incredibly important to them both. Mr Tawhara said they want to be known for being fair, down-to-earth and community minded.
“We strive to be grounded agents who legitimately want to build strong long term local relationships. We’re passionate around educating the local community on all matters property related,” he said.
“Whether our clients are selling a $300,000 studio or a $10 million estate, we will always treat everyone equally, and attention to detail will always remain at our forefront regardless of price point.
“Both buyers and sellers in our market will be treated equally, as well as landlords and tenants.”
Meanwhile, Mr Cameron said they pride themselves on their point of difference.
“Our biggest point of difference will be that all our clients will have a direct line of communication with both directors, every decision we make will be made with the client’s best interest at heart,” he said.
Ray White New South Wales CEO Andrew McCulloch congratulated Mr Cameron and Mr Tawhara on joining the Group.
“We are thrilled to have two high performing agents and business owners joining Ray White New South Wales. Having worked with both gentlemen over the past few years I am excited to have them join the group,” Mr McCulloch said.
“I have no doubt they will be an asset to the Group and look forward to celebrating their success in the future.”
