REIA CEO Jock Kreitals is set to bid farewell after five years at the helm of the organisation and 12 years in total at the Real Estate Institute of Australia.
President, Adrian Kelly said he has been very appreciative of Mr Kreitals’ contribution over the past decade and thankful for the excellent shape that he is leaving the REIA in.
“Jock has been a steady hand as CEO of the REIA,” Mr Kelly said.
“He has excellent financial management skills, built very solid relationships with all levels of government, particularly with federal politicians and bureaucrats in Canberra. He has certainly left our organisation in outstanding shape.
“Jock spearheaded a very successful campaign during last year’s federal election which highlighted the importance of the property sector to the Australian economy and its population.”
Mr Kelly said the hunt for a new CEO was already under way with a large number of applications having been received for the role.
“We are not in a rush and will be methodical in appointing our chosen successor, as the role is a vital one for our industry across the country,” Mr Kelly said.
“Meanwhile, I want to wish Jock all the best for his future endeavours and thank him again for his dedication to the industry over a long period of time.”
