High-end luxury fashion house Gucci has moved into the health and wellness sector, partnering with Oura to collaborate on a smart ring designed to help the wearer ‘discover themselves’.
Designed by Finnish health-technology company Oura Health the Oura Ring tracks the users sleep, activity, heart rate and temperature with science-backed insights.
Now Oura has collaborated with Gucci to create an Oura ring that combines fashion and science, with the ring featuring all of the ring’s traditional Gen 3 features.
Oura Chief Operations Officer Michael Chapp said in a blog on the ring’s website that Oura had always believed wearables could be both innovative and stylish.
“As a health and wellness platform at our core, we recognize that what you wear also impacts how you feel,” he said.
“Oura’s ring form factor has consistently set us apart in biometric accuracy, comfort and style and with the Gucci x Oura Ring, we’ve brought fashion and function even closer together.”
Priced at AUD$1590, the Gucci x Oura Ring is about three times the cost of the regular Gen 3 Oura ring. It is circular in shape with two chains of 18-carat gold running around it and Gucci’s interlocking G logo is repeated around the ring in black and gold.
