Halcyon Greens wins Master Builders Award for Gold Coast display home

Lifestyle developer Halcyon has been recognised for its approach to innovative home designs, taking out a prestigious Master Builders Award for its Fairway Series display home at Halcyon Greens in Pimpama on the Gold Coast

The Fairway Series display home, which boasts country club living and spectacular 180-degree views of the community’s adjoining golf course and wetlands, took out the top award for the $351,000 – $450,000 display home category at the Master Builders Queensland Awards night on Saturday, 3 August.

Halcyon secured the coveted accolade for its attention to detail in several elements of the home including liveability, design, innovation and workmanship.

Halcyon joint managing director Dr Bevan Geissmann said he and the team were delighted to win the award which is testament to the level of consideration and effort put into each of Halcyon’s home designs.

“In designing our homes we ensure we make the most of its position within the community, so that each home is full of natural light, ventilation and of course maximised views,” Dr Geissmann said.

“Another crucial element in the design of all our homes is planning around the residents’ lifestyle, so we have made the entry and front landscape a place where homeowners can engage with their neighbours.

“This home celebrates space for community connection internally while also offering private outdoor space for entertainment and views which we believe is an important balance to strike for our homeowners,” he said.

Dr Geissmann said, as with all Halcyon homes, the display home complied with Livable Housing Design’s Silver Level with features supporting ageing in place as well as some of Halcyon’s key signature inclusions.

“We included a ‘no-step’ entry, wider hallways and doorways, hobless shower recess and grab rail-ready walls to anticipate possible changes in mobility for our homeowners,” he said.

“Our main aim with this home was to meet the needs of the modern senior who demands high quality and cutting-edge design.

“This led to the incorporation of LED lighting, 16 solar panels, a Tesla battery, three layers of insulation and CSR Hebel cladding – all of which help to promote the physical comfort of the homeowner, but also help both in a financial and environmental capacity with the home securing a superior energy rating,” he said.

The Fairways Series Display Home includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, study and 12-foot vaulted ceilings, two fireplaces, chef’s kitchen, walk-in pantry and a double garage with golf cart parking.

Halcyon Greens is Australia’s first golf and lifestyle community and offers homeowners ease of access to an array of five-star lifestyle facilities including a $13 million recreational
