The holiday season has helped push buyer activity to a new high at Hope Island’s 46-lot land estate The Gallery, helping it secure sales of more than $4 million in a two-week period.
Following the latest rush of buyers, the estate is 80 per cent sold, with sales hitting $33 million after more than 100 inquiries from potential buyers during the Gold Coast’s peak holiday period immediately after Christmas.
The majority of inquiries came from interstate, with many Sydneysiders, in particular, keen to secure a sea change by securing a slice of the golf-course and waterfront lifestyle in North Shore precinct at the Gold Coast’s Hope Island.
However, it was local buyers that led the charge, with developer GH Australia securing six sales to south-east Queensland residents totalling $4.193 million over two weeks. There are now only 10 remaining lots to be sold.
The Gallery’s sales and marketing consultant Tony Hymus said he was prepared for a surge in inquiries when the Queensland border finally opened but the response “far exceeded our expectations”.
“The interstate interest really created a level of urgency among local buyers who didn’t want to get beaten to the punch,” Mr Hymus said.
“Demand was so strong that some people unfortunately missed out on the lot they wanted, and we even had one buyer willing to offer more than the list price to secure a site.”
Mr Hymus said he was confident of more sales being finalised over the coming weeks, including some sales to interstate parties who had inspected lots over the holidays.
“The Gallery still has some excellent lots available offering stunning golf course views, and the market remains quite active for us.”
Brisbane buyer Callum Mitchener purchased lot 43 at The Gallery and said his family would build their “forever home” on the parcel of land.
“We knew it would be a beautiful spot to raise a family, there are places to run and the greenery really drew us in,” Mr Mitchener said.
With home construction already under way, The Gallery is expecting its first residents to begin moving in from April.
Land prices at The Gallery start from $720,000 for a 597sq m golf course lot, while blocks up to 873sqm are selling for more than $1 million.
The 46 lots at The Gallery comprise golf course, lakefront and parkside homesites located within the Links Hope Island development, with the exclusive precinct offering 24/7 gated security.
Future amenities for residents will include a refurbished clubhouse and fully equipped gym, adding to the recreational and community appeal.
