The former party mansion of mafia girlfriend and America’s sweetheart, Phyllis McGuire is on the market, complete with its own replica Eiffel Tower.
The 26,000 square foot home on two acres in the prestigious Rancho Circle area of Las Vegas was previously for sale in 2017 at $6.5 million, but with the house not selling, Ms McGuire lived there until her passing on December 29 at age 89.
Ms McGuire was the final surviving member and wild child of popular 1950s-60’s sister act The McGuire Sisters – a group which broke up in the 1960s after her affair with mobster Sam Giancana became public.
Married and divorced only once at a very young age, she had no children and never remarried.
Ms McGuire lived a life of glamour in a Las Vegas mansion which was built for her in 1967 by the boyfriend who succeeded Giancana: high-rolling-gambler and oil-man Edward “Tiger Mike” Davis.
One of the dominant features of this former party house is its 44-foot Eiffel Tower replica, rising from the centre of the home.
Her taste in suitors might explain some of the features of the home, including bulletproof windows and electric shutters that close instantly at the touch of a button.
The public part of the interior is sectioned into the French Room, Oriental Room and downstairs Cabaret, which are all large enough to hold hundreds of guests and played host to the occasional sit-down dinner for 500 where Ms McGuire used her own china, crystal and silver.
Many of the major stars of the 1960s partied there, with the property proving a home away from home for them when in Las Vegas.
There is also a guest mansion, a basement disco, two swimming pools, a lagoon, tennis court, and Phyllis’ Place with grill, ice cream bar and soda fountain.
Phyllis claimed to have made some good investments in the oil business and amassed a fortune in jewels, art, antiques, and furnishings as seen throughout the mansion, living an expensive lifestyle which continued until her death.
