The luxury New York townhouse of Donald Trump’s former wife, Ivana has officially hit the market for US$26.5 million.
According to The Dirt, Ivana Trump, who passed away earlier this year, paid US$2.5 million for the five-storey residence in 1992, after her divorce from the former US president.
The 810sq m townhouse is currently configured with five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms but has the ability to add more bedrooms per the official listing.
The underlying theme of the luxury residence is over-the-top extravagance, with crystal chandeliers in every room, including the bathrooms, as well as gilded cherubs and gold damask wallpaper throughout.
There are two formal entertaining areas on the second floor, a sitting room and dining room that features chairs upholstered in gold and gold fabric on the walls.
The master suite includes a private terrace outside the bedroom, a fireplace, extensive closet space, and a bathroom with multiple mirrors, a sea of pink marble and gold fixtures and a number of gilded Corinthian columns.
Inside there are not one but two compact galley kitchens – one just off the dining room and another downstairs on the garden level.
Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, David Geffen and Gianni Versace also previously owned townhouses on the same block.
