The California home once designed and built by ‘The Man in Black’ is on the market for US$1.795 million.
According to toptenrealestatedeals.com, Cash built the 418sq m home in rural Casitas Springs, California in 1961 as his quiet place to escape from the country music lifestyle.
Cash had envisioned a place where he and his wife, Vivian, and their three daughters could enjoy family life in the hills, before the couple divorced in 1966.
The home sits on nearly six acres and includes five bedrooms, a pool, office, barbecue area, and sweeping views of the Ojai Valley, oak trees and evergreens and year-round flowers.
The home boasts the country-motif family room and curved brick fireplace, custom wood built-ins, and an original wall-mounted turntable.
The wood-panelled studio where the musician wrote some of his biggest hits remains intact along with the two his-and-her master bedroom suites because of Johnny’s late-night routine of writing music all night.
According to the listing agents, the home turned out just as Cash had hoped.
