The famous ‘Fountain Lakes’ house used in Kath & Kim is being demolished in a sad day for fans of the iconic Australian TV series.
The four-bedroom house that was originally rented by the ABC for the hit sitcom is expected to be fully demolished within two weeks according to realestate.com.au.
Owner Joanne Kelly purchased the property for $1,485,000 at the real life suburb of Patterson Lakes in 2016 and opened the house up to fans of the show in 2019 so they could wander through and say their goodbyes before the property was transformed.
Ms Kelly charged visitors $5 each to attend, with all proceeds going to charity.
While the house has changed since the series aired nearly 15 years ago, there were still remnants that fans would be familiar with including the kitchen and living room areas.
Workers from Dig Dig Demoliton are on site at Patterson Lakes, south east of Melbourne, as demolition of the once-famous house begins.
