On getting into real estate
I was looking for a career change and thought Iโd give real estate a go. Once I was licensed, I was addicted!
The happiest moment in my career
Being able to do what I love and include my husband and three children in a lifestyle that works for our family unit.
The most memorable moment
It was a family property that I took to auction, with nine vendors and in an area I donโt usually sell in.
In a stressful market where prices were dropping and it was turning into a buyerโs market, it was a fantastic campaign and successful auction.
The reserve was exceeded by hundreds of thousands of dollars and created excitement for everyone, including other local agents and prospective vendors in the area.
Best advice sheโs received
Treat the person who you are working with in the same way you would expect to be treated in the same situation. And a smile goes a long way!
Biggest challenge
I think the biggest challenge in the future is remembering the basics of real estate. People want people to work with. We need to remember to provide the service that our clients and customers are trusting us to do.
Change for good?
Iโd like to see more on-the-job training for newbie salespeople. There will be less mistakes with a more practical approach.
โEliteโ agent means
It is someone who is focused, knowledgeable and passionate about getting the job done to the best of their ability. A friendly, approachable agent who makes you feel comfortable and gives you their time is important. Itโs the small things that exceed expectations.
#WeAreRealEstate is a series of short interviews with 140 agentsย all over Australia and New Zealand exploring the industryโs hopes, concerns, future challenges, and what it really means to be an Elite Agent.
