Canadian actor and comedian, Mike Myers, is continuing his efforts to sell his luxurious penthouse in Chelsea, New York City, after nearly a year on the market.
Initially listed for US$20 million in May last year, the price of the expansive 522sq m condominium was reduced to US$18.5 million in October and has now dropped to $17.5 million, according to Architectural Digest.
This is still above the US$15.35 million Myers paid for it in 2017.
The penthouse offers stunning features, including two spacious terraces totalling 83sq m.
The larger terrace, stretching nearly 20m, provides spectacular views of the Hudson River and the High Line.
Other parts of the home boast panoramic vistas of iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.
Inside, the penthouse includes a library, a media room, and a large study that could potentially be converted into a fifth bedroom.
The main living area features an open-plan design with large windows, a wood-burning fireplace encased in floor-to-ceiling honey-hued marble, and an all black chef’s kitchen.
The kitchen is designed with custom oak cabinets adorned with gold accents, brass hardware, and dual Carrara marble islands.
The primary suite spans the length of the unit and includes multiple walk-in closets, a study with a built-in marble wet bar, and direct access to the expansive outdoor area and an exclusive second terrace.
The ensuite bathroom is a haven of luxury with a sauna, steam shower, a cast iron bathtub, dual vanities with marble finishes matching the living room, and radiant heated floors.
The penthouse also features three additional bedrooms, each with their own marble bathrooms equipped with soaking tubs and separate showers.
Access to the penthouse is secured through a keyed elevator that opens directly into the residence, located on the top floor of a 10-storey condominium designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen and completed in 2015.
Myers, renowned for his roles in Austin Powers, Wayne’s World, and Shrek, had previously owned a US$14 million penthouse in New York’s SoHo before acquiring this Chelsea property.
In 2022, he starred in the Netflix miniseries The Pentaverate.
