A decade after acquiring a secluded property in Malibu’s western extremities for US$2.2 million, following her split from actor Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr, the esteemed former Victoria’s Secret model, is putting the estate up for sale.
Kerr, now married to Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, is asking nearly US$4.5 million for the property, highlighting the enhancements she’s added and the general upswing in Malibu’s real estate market.
Nestled at the end of a discreet cul-de-sac above Pacific Coast Highway, the 0.73-acre hillside compound features four distinct structures, reflecting a blend of privacy and luxury, according to the Robb Report.
The property, once belonging to renowned actor James Whitmore until his passing in 2009, carries a significant Hollywood legacy, adding to its allure.
The main residence, a single-storey home spanning almost 204sq m, boasts open-plan living spaces bathed in white, from the living room with its wide-plank wood flooring and stone fireplace, to the vaulted ceilings and a pentagonal window wall offering tranquil ocean views.
The house also includes a dining area with ocean vistas, a modern kitchen, two bedrooms sharing a large bathroom, and a master suite with panoramic ocean views and an updated bathroom.
Outside, the property offers a swimming pool with an attached spa, a large deck providing ocean views, and lush vegetation enhancing its privacy.
Additional accommodations include a 63sq m pool house and two hillside guesthouses, culminating in a total of six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a powder room.
The sale is managed by Brian Goldberg of Luxury Malibu Property.
Kerr and Spiegel, meanwhile, primarily reside in Brentwood, Los Angeles, and have an extensive property portfolio including a Parisian villa, an Australian vineyard estate, and a mega-estate in Holmby Hills, alongside Spiegel’s first Brentwood home purchase.
