Raine & Horne has launched an office in Townsville, led by experienced business partners Steve Leaumont and Sue Edmunds.
Raine & Horne Townville is the fifteenth office opened by the brand in Queensland in the last 12 months. In the past month, Raine & Horne has also opened offices in Kilcoy and Brisbane.
“Raine & Horne enjoys strong brand awareness in North Queensland because of our offices in Charters Towers, Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Mossman, and Julia Creek, and we are delighted that Steve and Sue have decided to join us,” said Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne Group.
Before real estate, Mr Leaumont developed his sales and marketing skills in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector in senior business and sales roles, domestically and internationally with Mars Confectionary, Smiths Snack foods, and Paton’s Macadamia.
“The FMCG industry is the most competitive market in the world giving me a unique skill set that will only benefit our Real Estate business,” said Mr Leaumont.
Ms Edmunds has been in the real estate and building industry for 25 years as a sales agent, and as a principal, before taking on a role as a territory manager for property data firm CoreLogic in North Queensland.
“Sue owned several real estate businesses before joining CoreLogic. However, real estate sales remains her passion, and she wanted to open a new business, but this time with a business partner,” Mr Leaumont said.
“We met at a small independent real estate agency in Townsville and discovered that our business skills complemented each other. Accordingly, opening an office together seemed like the perfect move.”
Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne said the addition of Mr Leaumont and Ms Edmonds to the Raine & Horne team is a fantastic for the brand in North Queensland.
“Steve and Sue have hit the ground running and already have a full book of listings including 17 Kurrajong Court, Bushland Beach, a magnificent tropical private oasis with a brand new four bedroom home for $574,000,” said Mr Raine.
“I’m thrilled Steve and Sue have joined Raine & Horne, and I look forward to working with them to supply the very best in real estate services and products to our clients in Townsville and the surrounding region.”
Raine & Horne also launched an office in Carlingford led by experienced local real estate professionals Francis Wong and Jenny Zhang.
“Raine & Horne has a long history of serving the Carlingford and Eastwood communities, so it’s a coup that Francis and Jenny have joined our group,” said Mr Raine.
“Francis has more than 20 years of real estate experience in the Carlingford and Eastwood markets with another leading brand, while Jenny has worked locally in property sales for several years.
Strategically, the establishment of the new office will enable Raine & Horne to service a market that is undergoing significant structural change.
“There is a lot of residential growth in the Carlingford area, with a significant number of apartments built within 200 metres of our new office,” said Mr Raine.
“The Carlingford Village retail precinct attracts significant numbers to the area, while the forthcoming Light Rail plans will see Carlingford connected to Westmead via Parramatta. It’s exciting times for this increasingly pivotal real estate investment market.”
On the market front, Mr Wong said sales listings are in short supply, while buyer numbers are fewer than at the start of the year.
“The big difference, however, is that we have more genuine buyers than tyre-kickers. Therefore, if you price a Carlingford property sensibly, you’ll be likely to secure a sale,” said Mr Wong.
Ms Zhang is also excited by the opportunity to link with Raine & Horne and to achieve her dream of business ownership.
“I love the job of real estate, so to be able to turn this passion into a business is very exciting,” said Ms Zhang, who has worked with Mr Wong since 2015.
