Ray White Runaway Bay sales and marketing consultant Mitchell Booth is a star in the making.
The 20-year-old recently graduated top of class in Ray White Queensland’s Accelerate program.
Completed over three months, the training and coaching platform is for all new Ray White Queensland members regardless of their level of industry experience.
Ray White Queensland Business Development Executive Candice Higgins said Mr Booth displayed fantastic potential from day one of the February program.
“Mitchell proved to us very early on that he had the skill and ability to become a very good sales agent and what a wonderful start he has had,” Ms Higgins said.
“While wishing Mitchell all the best in his real estate career with Ray White, we acknowledge and congratulate Mitchell on successfully graduating and winning our February 2018 W12 Accelerate program. We also wish him all the very best with his state nomination for the Accelerate All Star award which will be announced later this year.”
Throughout the program, each participating member strives to earn points within the program and is awarded based on the success they have for the duration of 12 weeks.
Mr Booth said the secret to his exciting foray into the real estate industry stemmed from applying a solid work ethic developed during his teenage years.
“When I was in high school, I would catch the train down from Brisbane and I started selling hats and little things like that to my mates,” he said.
“I realised I was quite good at being able to sell and make a bit of money which I would spend at the tuckshop funnily enough. I think I’ve always had the knack and it was a matter of putting faith in myself. If I don’t take a punt on myself, no one else will.”
Originally from Logan, Mr Booth attended well-known rugby league breeding ground Keebra Park State High School on the Gold Coast.
He spent two years in the construction industry before completing his real estate license in early 2018.
“When I was playing footy, we had set goals and would train three times a day, so real estate for me is no different, I have set goals and I am working hard to achieve them,” Mr Booth said.
“I put all my energy into that and so all I’ve done is transferred that energy into real estate. You have your bad days but you have to realise that there’s always a good day around the corner.”
Mr Booth said he decided to join Ray White because he’d been told the company was the best in the business, particularly in terms of structure, systems and processes.
“I thought it would be the best fit for me,” he said.
“Ray White Runaway Bay was the first agency I called and I went in a few days later for a meeting, after 90 minutes they asked when would I like to start.”
Ray White Runaway Bay principal Ali Mian said Mr Booth shows wonderful potential to succeed in real estate.
“He’s a very young energetic person which is great,” Mr Mian said.
“With the right training and guidance, he’ll do well. You’ve got to love what you do and that’ll make you a success. Attitude is very important and he’s got the right mindset.”
Mr Booth said he has no goals for the first 12 months of his career, other than to deliver the best possible service and learn as much as he can.
“The best way is to go out and do it,” he said.
“Comparing when I first started to now, I was shocking. I look back after each day and identify where I could be better and work to improve each day. The knowledge, skills and confidence I have gained since I have started helps me keep my composure in high-pressure situations. The only way to learn is by doing it in steps and recognising my mistakes and improving.”
