Ray White Glenroy has welcomed two new commercial directors to the team as Dee Nguyen and Domenic Sgambellone join the family.
Mr Nguyen joined Ray White as a business owner in 2017 before taking a year off after becoming a father for the first time and travelling overseas.
“Commercial has always been an interest of mine, it’s a time in my life where I want to step it up a level and diversify into another part of real estate,” Mr Nguyen said.
“I’ve worked with four or five different real estate brands, and the experience I’ve had with Ray White is phenomenal. I should have started my career with Ray White, I wonder where I would be today.
“In my year off, I had four to six months overseas, and that allowed me to broaden my network internationally.”
Mr Nguyen said there were a mix of retail, industrial, offices, land and development sites in the north-west of Melbourne.
“In each sector there’s an enormous opportunity in sales and leasing. There’s strong demand for smaller warehouses in industrial parks at the moment,” he said.
“There’s also strong demand for apartment developments across north-west Melbourne and strong demand in mum and dad investors using their super to invest in commercial property.
“Retail operators are doing it tough at the moment, indicative of the cash rate drop again recently. People don’t have a lot of disposable income.”
Mr Sgambellone started his career in land subdivision, before moving into property management then onto residential sales, followed by auctioneering.
He owned five offices across the northern corridor of Melbourne, specialising in residential sales, commercial sales and leasing and then moved into leasing serviced offices in Melbourne CBD and Southbank.
A lifestyle change led Mr Sgambellone to move into the media industry working as a BDM for The Age newspaper, Leader News, and domain.com.au.
“I met Ziya and Mete (current Ray White Glenroy Principals) when I was their account manager for The Leader almost 10 years ago, and I remember one night Ziya invited me to his birthday, and that’s where our relationship began,” Mr Sgambellone said.
“If I was going to work in the commercial space then I was only going to work with Ziya and Mete and be a part of the Ray White family.
“I treat people with respect and do the right thing and I believe people buy or lease from people they like. I don’t like grey areas and I use my experience to offer an honest approach.”
Ray White Glenroy Principals Mete Karan and Ziya Koksal said they were pleased to welcome such high-calibre commercial agents into their family.
“For us, it was more of a geographical opportunity, in the north-west corridor there isn’t a local agency offering commercial property services,” Mr Karan said.
“Dee has run a business before, he is hungry and driven. Dom has a background working at the paper and Domain, arguably he has one of the best reputations in our industry.”
“We saw a gap in the market and it was a big opportunity for us to tap into the northern corridor,” Mr Koksal said.
“Backed by the Ray White brand and Dom’s experience – we have a diverse group, we’re going to do it differently, we aren’t going to be your traditional commercial agents.
“For us, some of our residential landlords own commercial property as well. This way we can provide a complete real estate solution for our customers, past vendors and purchasers.”
