Two types of buyers are tipped to be attracted to the home, including interstate buyers who want acreage close to the races or inner city buyers looking for a tree change.

Block contestants Omar and Oz have joined forces with Ray White Sunbury principals Aaron Hill and Marin Durkovic to sell their 4ha Macedon Ranges retreat.
This year’s season has taken a regional twist with contestants transforming homes in the Macedon Ranges town of Gisborne. Omar and Oz have taken on the challenge of renovating House 5 – an old four bedroom, three bathroom Queenslander. The property, 207 McGeorge Rd, Gisborne, is going to auction on Saturday, November 5.
Ex-New Zealand Warriors NRL player Omar and best friend and self-confessed Block superfan Oz (pictured below) are keen to make their mark with plans to modernise the Queenslander to appeal to treechanging buyers. They’ve already proven they’ve got what it takes to take out the top prize after winning Main Bathroom Week and the Master Ensuite Challenge.
Marketing agent, Mr Hill said the area’s popularity has recently surged with city buyers flocking to the Macedon Ranges for the treechanger lifestyle.
“There are two types of buyers we expect to be attracted to this property – interstate buyers who want acreage close to the races or inner city buyers looking for a treechange,” Mr Hill said.
“They will probably have a home close to the city and want something a bit different in a sought-after regional area of Victoria that’s still easily accessible to the inner suburbs.
“It’s close to Melbourne but not that close – you’ve got a tennis court, family entertainment and four hectares of land to call your own.”
The pair have also seen an increase in sight unseen purchases over the past two years and said their current market is probably made up of 70 per cent city buyers.
“A lot of people have come here knowing they can work from home but still get into the city relatively easily for their Monday meeting,” Mr Hill said.
“Quite often we would have buyers who only set foot in their home after the purchase because they weren’t able to inspect the property prior due to the Melbourne lockdowns.
“But even after Melbourne opened up we are finding it hasn’t diminished the level of buyers we are seeing coming from interstate or the city. Before the pandemic, it was mostly just locals moving around.”
