Mindset coaches, futurists and real estate technicians gathered at RE/MAX Australia’s multi-day conference, RMX23, recently to motivate and inspire the network’s agents.
RE/MAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren said the current real estate landscape was challenging but agents could thrive if they focused on their health, relationships and careers.
“Look after yourselves, acknowledge the fragility out there but find time for gratitude and joy, and ultimately, the market will always be good for good operators,” he said.
The highlight of Day 1 was Australian big wave surfer, author and ocean adventurer, Mark Visser who shared the story of how he caught 30 to 40-foot waves at night at the infamous Jaws break in Maui back in 2011.
Tim Lawless, Executive Research Director with CoreLogic, gave a national market update, while top-performing sales agents Melita Bell, Leanne Druery and Tristan Brown took to the stage for Sales MAX Talks, where they shared their real estate industry experiences and insights to inspire and empower their peers.
For the Property Management MAX Talks, Cyndi Ward, Nicole Kemp and Simon Withers shared their vast knowledge and for the afternoon breakout sessions, Jenna Pollard, Brett White and Tamara Hall covered a range of topics, from effective prospecting to optimising your pipeline and maximising business opportunities.
Crampton Property Management’s Cathie Crampton also led a session, sharing her 20 years of experience, with a keen eye for fundamentals, a knack for driving profitability and a deep understanding of the challenges in the industry.
RE/MAX Living’s Kathy Sweeney said Mark Visser’s presentation was inspiring.
“Mark Visser’s presentation on mindset and tenacity was massive, and really resonated with me,” she said.
“If you are going to do something, do it 100 per cent. There are no shortcuts.
“The variety in speakers provided lots of different takeaways and the program certainly showcased the internal talent within RE/MAX.”
The network also handed out its six-monthly awards and hosted a soiree at The Star casino.
The top business performance in commission and transactions for the first six months of 2023 came from RE/MAX Bayside-Results, three offices in Cleveland, Alexandra Hills and Morningside under Hayley van de Ven’s leadership.
RE/MAX Elite in Wagga Wagga was the top office for property management net growth and percentage growth.
RE/MAX Advantage Wynnum agent Todd Gerhardt was the top individual for commission and Kylee Harnisch from RE/MAX Bayside-Results, Morningside, led for transactions.
The network’s top team for the six months was the Jacqui Walker Team from RE/MAX Success in Toowoomba.
“A good percentage of our top agents have had a better first six months than the year before, despite low stock and interest rate concerns,” Mr Davoren said.
“We are still on track to see 20-plus Diamond writers generating more than $1 million each in commissions, including some Double and Triple Diamonds.
“Great operators are doing great things.”
Day 2 featured key speakers Tom Panos, 23rd Street founder Bailey Robinson and social researcher and best-selling author, Michael McQueen, who, along with recognition for helping some of the world’s most successful brands navigate disruption and maintain momentum, is a familiar face on the international conference circuit where he’s shared the stage with the likes of Bill Gates, Dr John Maxwell and Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak.
Keeping the conference proceedings dynamic and information-fuelled was Master of Ceremonies, Caroline Bolderston, a transformative coach, trainer and speaker who has dedicated the past seven years to developing sales performance and business efficiency within the real estate industry.
RE/MAX Now’s David Kopelke said he learnt a lot from all of the speakers.
“The diversity in presenters and topics meant everyone got something to take back to their business and implement,” he said.
“For me, RE/MAX Edge and digital marketing expert Bailey Robinson on social media were it.
“Also, hearing Melita Bell speak about her team was perfect timing as we are restructuring our own team to be similar.”
