Changes are afoot at RE/MAX Metro, with the Sydney real estate office relocating to the Lower North Shore suburb of St Leonards and ownership transferring to experienced property leasing and management professional, Serena Tang.
Former broker-owner Bryan Sun is RE/MAX Metro’s director of sales.
“Bryan’s experience and reputation in sales, business investments and commercial property is extremely valuable in our business, and it was desirable to have him lead the sales division,” Ms Tang said.
“From selling small retail shops to multimillion-dollar commercial real estate deals, he knows how to identify and create value.
“And having a familiar professional enables a smooth transition, including for our landlords.”
Ms Tang had been looking at business opportunities for rent roll acquisition when she and Bryan Sun connected.
It quickly became very clear they could complement each other in business, which became a greater certainty as the business relationship grew over a 12-month period.
RE/MAX Metro’s three speciality divisions are property management; sales – projects, developments, residential; and commercial leasing and management.
“Property management is the lifeblood of a real estate business,” she said.
“The rent roll is the true underlying value, and it is the steady income month-on-month.
“Property management is about long-term, consistent relationships with property owners.
“These people buy and sell real estate, making them customers for life.
“This is where the equity in the business is, and for that reason, we respect the direct link between property management and sales.”
Ms Tang said she had an exciting vision in mind for RE/MAX Metro.
“One intention is to specialise and invest in our own brand while recognising and meeting community needs,” she said.
“For example, look at a place like Newtown, with lots of empty shops. We envisage it revitalised and reenergised through our brand.
“We will tap into projected residential growth and be the agent of commercial development.”
Ms Tang is tapping into her own strong background in the commercial sector, with many years of senior appointments in commercial property management.
She has a degree in international tourism, along with a business commerce degree, and in 2015 she established her company, RENA Australia, initially as an international trading entity but branched out into the real estate industry.
She also worked full-time in property management in the Sydney market for around five years, and launched her own business, Omni Realty Group, with a primary focus on residential and commercial property management, but offering sales services for both.
RE/MAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren said he was delighted to have Ms Tang join the network
“Serena is a successful and astute business owner who is eager to grow RE/MAX Metro in exciting directions by being aligned with the RE/MAX brand,” he said.
Now located at 304/460 Pacific Highway, St Leonards, NSW, RE/MAX Metro provides high-quality real estate services to Sydney’s Lower North Shore, while being part of the largest real estate group in the world.
