After being on the market for just over two months, Rihanna has closed the chapter on her Los Angeles penthouse, selling it for a hair under US$20.8 million.
According to The Robb Report, the sale marks a slight loss for the pop sensation, as she parted with the property for about US$85,000 less than what she paid for it in early 2023.
The 36-year-old billionaire acquired the condo for a discounted US$21 million in March 2023 from Nick Molnar, co-founder of Afterpay, who had initially listed it for US$28 million.
Prior to Molnar, the residence belonged to the late Friends actor Matthew Perry, who purchased it for US$20 million in 2017.
Perry, in collaboration with architect Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Pagano, extensively renovated the sprawling unit during his four-year ownership.
Situated on the entire 40th floor of The Century building, a luxurious residential tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the penthouse boasts four bedrooms and seven bathrooms and offers breathtaking views stretching from Downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean, courtesy of four expansive wraparound terraces.
Among its standout features is a lavish soundproof movie theatre and a spacious entrance galley perfect for displaying artwork.
The living room showcases two fireplaces, while the formal dining room comfortably seats 25 guests.
A game room/library, complete with a fireplace, provides additional space for relaxation.
The gourmet kitchen is equipped with marble-topped islands, premium Miele, Wolf, and Sub-Zero appliances, a wine refrigerator, and a breakfast nook.
The opulent primary suite boasts a cosy fireside seating area, dual baths and walk-in closets, and stunning views through soaring windows.
