Richard Matthews Real Estate director and auctioneer Matthew Everingham has announced a fundraising collaboration with Beyond Blue.
Mr Everingham recently spoke about the enormous prevalence of mental health issues across the real estate industry.
The Richard Matthews Real Estate (RMRE) team have announced they will be raising funds in the community and will match every donation made, dollar-for-dollar.
“It was incredible seeing facts showing that over 65 per cent of real estate agents suffer from some form of mental health issues, we are in such a high pressure industry,” Mr Everingham said.
“Richard Matthews Real Estate thought there was no better way to show our support to Beyond Blue than supporting them directly.
“They offer free support 24/7 to those most in need and the work they do to raise awareness with mental health is invaluable”.
RMRE director and auctioneer, Richard Baini echoed this sentiment, explaining he has seen agents struggle with depression.
“For those of us in the industry, we know of many people that suffer depression thinking they aren’t performing at the same level as those recognised as high performers,” Mr Baini said.
“We have seen many good people leave the industry and more seriously, attempt harm on themselves as a result.
“This important cause reminds everyone we are all equal, blessed with our own special talents and qualities, and are tremendously important to our loved ones, both family and friends”.
The team will be raising funds to reach a minimum goal of $5000, which when reached will mean a total donation of at least $10,000 to the charity.
