There will be more laughs and Christmas wishes to go around this year as the Richardson & Wrench Spring Starlight campaign comes to a close, with donations to The Starlight Children’s Foundation reaching almost $589,000.
Now in its 15th year, the R&W partnership with Starlight began in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and expanded across the network in 2012.
Throughout the spring campaign, participating offices, and individual agents, contributed a portion of the commissioned earned on each property sale from September 1 to November 30.
R&W Managing Director Andrew Cocks said the network had once again shown its true colours, giving generously despite the tough listing and market conditions faced by agents right across the country.
“One of the great things about our network is the enthusiasm of our people to give back to the community,” said Mr Cocks.
“Once again our agents and principals have made a significant contribution to put a smile on the faces of children whose illness means that hospital is almost their second home.
“Helping Starlight to provide support and help to sick children and their families comes with its own very real reward and unites our people in a common cause.”
The relationship with Starlight began on a deeply personal level for R&W’s Eastern Suburbs offices in 2005 and seven years later the company invited the rest of the network across Sydney and Queensland to get involved.
The R&W-Starlight model allows agencies and individual agents to set the amount they donate, making it feasible for both large and small offices to participate, while also respecting their many other local charity commitments.
Fundraising is only one part of the relationship that R&W has built with Starlight and throughout the year agents take part in activities in Starlight Express Rooms and many are regular volunteers.
