Sentinel Property Group has appointed real estate industry leader Paul McDonnell to the newly-created senior management position of Director of Property.
Mr McDonnell will begin work with Sentinel in Brisbane from August 5 as part of the Group’s executive team, with a wide-ranging role focusing on Sentinel’s property and asset management divisions.
Sentinel Managing Director Warren Ebert said Mr McDonnell was a key management appointment for the property syndicator, which over the past decade has built up a national portfolio of more than 50 retail, industrial, office, land, tourism infrastructure and agribusiness assets with a total value of more than $1.2 billion.
“Paul has more than 30 years’ experience in investment property in all states of Australia and will bring a wealth of property experience, professional leadership and strategic development to the benefit of the Group,” Mr Ebert said.
“He has an enviable track record and his areas of expertise include portfolio management, asset management, property management, development and leasing in commercial, industrial, retail and hotel property.”
Mr Ebert said Mr McDonnell will focus on the property and asset management components of the business, which would allow Mr Ebert to focus on the strategic direction of the group.
Mr McDonnell has held senior roles with Racing Queensland, AMP, Cromwell Property Group and the Port of Brisbane, as well as serving on many committees and boards for the Property Council of Australia (PCA) and the Australian Property Institute (API), including recently serving five years on the Divisional Council of the Queensland PCA.
He said he was excited to join the Sentinel team.
“Since he established Sentinel in Brisbane in 2009, Warren as Managing Director has overseen the spectacular growth of the group and I look forward to contributing to the next phase of the journey,” Mr McDonnell said.
