Sorted and REIP team up for listing and applications platform

PropTech innovator Sorted has joined forces with Real Estate Industry Partners (REIP), to launch a free listing site and applications platform.

The Sorted Applications platform forms the entry point for the first fully connected tenancy experience for agents, tenants and landlords.

As part of the partnership, REIP members will gain access to the Sorted Applications platform to view, manage and approve tenants that have applied for their properties through REIP’s new listing site portal.reip.com.au

This freemium product forms the beginning of a fully connected platform, which is designed to offer a seamless experience for agents, landlords and tenants from listing to lead, lease to tenancy, through to home set-up and ongoing management.

Despite technology moving at an unprecedented speed over the past decade, a new study by the Property Council of Australia indicates the real estate industry has taken longer to adopt technological innovation.

Data from the report showed one in three property professionals believe real estate lags behind other sectors with its use of technology.

One in four property industry professionals still depend on Excel to manage their data and the industry spends 71 per cent less on innovation than the automotive industry.

GAP IN THE MARKET

Sorted Founder and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Duncan said there was an evident gap in the market and an opportunity to create a seamless experience for the sector.

“The problem we saw was that while there are countless solutions out there for everything like inspections, applications, service connections, payments, and customer comms, there is no single system which uses technology to streamline the process with the agent and customer experience at the forefront,” Mr Duncan said.

He said since COVID-19 had forced the industry online, real estate and property management companies had shown just how nimble they could be.

The REIP and Sorted partnership aims to build on this momentum, with both organisations believing the time is ripe for disruption and innovation.

Mr Duncan said reshaping the market would free up agents from the limitations and friction of outdated systems, while providing customers a simple and pain-free experience.

“It made complete sense to leverage their applications software on our listings website.”

Ms Smiles said many agencies would benefit from such a streamlined piece of technology.

“Our mission is to make the agency more resilient, through introducing technology solutions that create efficiencies, so they can get on with listing and leasing,” she said.

Sorted offers a freemium and a paid version, which streamlines the entire tenancy lifecycle including payments and maintenance. For more information, visit sortedservices.com
