A technology expert with international experience, Steve Maidment has joined REA Group as Chief Technology Officer.
As a member of REA Group’s executive leadership team, Mr Maidment and his team will be responsible for the platforms that underpin REA Group’s products, services and operations.
An accomplished leader with more than 25 years’ experience in technology and digital roles, Mr Maidment joins REA Group from Auto Trader based in Toronto, Canada, where he has held the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer since 2018.
Prior to that, he held the role of Chief Digital Officer at CrownBet and General Manager, Digital Channels at Australia Post.
He has also previously held Director and Senior Management roles at Phoenix Digital and Telstra.

In August 2022, REA Group Chief Technology Officer Chris Venter had to take medical leave from his role after a severe accident, with Craig Templeton acting in the role in the interim.
Once Mr Maidment starts with the group, Mr Templeton will return to his role as Chief Information Security Officer and General Manager Technology and Data Platforms.
REA Group Chief Executive Officer Owen Wilson said he was delighted to welcome Mr Maidment to REA Group.

Mr Maidment will join REA Group in October at its headquarters in Richmond, Melbourne.
