Stu Benson to spearhead Box+Dice national growth

Melbourne-based CRM software provider Box+Dice is preparing to go national with well-known auctioneer Stu Benson set to spearhead their push for growth.

Box+Dice General Manager Ashley Blakey explained the business had established a clear market leadership in Victoria and was now looking to expand their market share on a national level.

“At the moment our numbers indicate we have about a 60-70 per cent market share in Victoria with options also available in all states. Now we’re working to establish a more personalised service outside of our home state,” Mr Blakey explained.

Unlike one-size-fits-all CRMs, Box+Dice has a distinct real estate focus encompassing everything from trust accounting to appraisals, advertising, and areas of property management.

Built by agents for agents, the software offers a social emphasis, with features like email blasts and marketing tools incorporated.

However, Mr Blakey noted the company’s additional strength lay in its personalised service and support, which is what they will be looking to capitalise on over the coming months.

“We don’t just set agencies up with a login and say ‘here you are, off you go’.

“We understand real estate CRMs are so much more complicated than that. So, we offer face-to-face training and face-to-face account management.”

The company anticipates having a national presence within 12 months, but the initial area of focus will be New South Wales.

The rollout will be accompanied by a relaunch and re-brand, including an updated website and brand new marketing content.

Meanwhile Mr Benson was recently appointed to spread the word and be the first point of contact for Box+Dice outside Victoria.

“In addition to being a genuinely good guy, Stu boasts incredible industry knowledge, is known in the sector, has vast experience, and will have a focus on how Box+Dice can help users from a real estate, rather than tech, perspective,” Mr Blakey said.

As one of Elite Agent’s regular auction commentators, Mr Benson not only has his own Sydney-based auctioneering business, but also has a wider background in the industry.

In 2018 he was named Auctioneer of the Year, is known for his appearance on The Block where he sold an apartment for $665,000 above reserve, and previously held the role of National Corporate Sales Manager for the Domain Group for over 14 years.

Mr Benson said he was looking forward to “getting back in the corporate saddle” as Growth and Development Manager for Box+Dice.

“My auction business is hyper-local, so I’m excited about getting back into a position that could influence real estate around the country.

“I’ve looked around at various opportunities, but Box+Dice really just fits.

“I think it’s one of the best kept secrets in real estate. Box+Dice has an overwhelmingly dominant market share in Victoria, and with good reason.

“It’s important that we show the broader industry not only the options available to them, but also to get them thinking about the current systems, tech and business structure they’re using.”

Based out of Sydney, Mr Benson will be charged with getting the system in front of agents, as well as being a point of contact for existing and new clients.

He has taken on the position in addition to managing his own successful auctioneering agency – Benson Auctions.
