Top performers take centre stage at RE/MAX forum

Each year RE/MAX Australia and RE/MAX New Zealand invite their top performers to participate in a forum of shared knowledge and experiences.

50 RE/MAX members gathered in Tropical North Queensland in June for networking, learning and entertainment, bundled with a good dose of fun, all planned around the theme of leadership.

RE/MAX Australia and RE/MAX New Zealand Managing Director, Michael Davoren, described the event as massively successful, and exciting to witness what occurs when the cream of RE/MAX agents come together.

“With our industry searching for strong leadership to guide us through an ever-changing environment, we gave our best the perfect opportunity to tune their leadership skills and it began with all-important self-leadership,” said Mr Davoren.

The three-day event was held at the Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa. With Port Douglas just an hour’s drive north of Cairns, the first day included a visit to RE/MAX Real Estate Services where Tony Williamson hosted delegates at Whitfield Chapel, a popular wedding venue repurposed as an auction venue and real estate office early last year.

Forum speakers were Matt de Beer, from RE/MAX Masters in South Africa; professional track cyclist Jordan Kerby; and entrepreneurship facilitator Tara Diversi.

Matt de Beer’s team is ranked #1 in South Africa, and #7 for RE/MAX internationally. He shared ‘a piece of Africa’ along with valuable insight into his successes. Jordan Kerby, a World Championship and Commonwealth Games gold medalist, and a five-times Australian Champion spoke on self-leadership from his own personal perspective.

From her experiences and background of psychology, human behaviour and behavioural insights, Tara Diversi shared some ideas on getting the most out of yourself and others.

Mr Davoren said a panel featuring RE/MAX top performers Leanne Kroes from Narangba, Ray Murphy, from Cairns, and Debbie Aldred and Nola Kloppers from Warkworth, New Zealand built on the program’s exceptional speakers.
