“It’s a good alignment,” Simon says of his decision to join the platform.
“Obviously, I get asked my point of view a lot about property. They’re a diversified property business including the view.com.au portal , and I just thought it was a good fit for what I do – partnering with them made sense.”
The partnership is a minimum 12-month engagement, where Simon will provide insights, commentary and guidance on what’s happening in Australian real estate.
But unlike other brand deals, he says this one is grounded in a shared purpose: to deliver meaningful content and practical advice.
“They want me to give advice, insights, tips – real information,” he says.
“They’re a business that gives a lot of data and context, and there’s alignment there. I feel I am someone who’s well trusted in the industry, and I think the audience values that.”
While the exact topics will evolve over time, Simon says his focus will be on sharing what matters most to the industry as it shifts.
“When things happen, I’ll comment. I’ll give my own advice. I’ll be highlighting trends, what’s happening in the market, my thoughts on styles, values – all of it,” he says.
“But the key is relevance. What matters one month might not matter the next. So I’ll be looking at the data, the sentiment, and what people are actually experiencing on the ground.”
He’s quick to point out that this role is not about having the final say, but rather about offering considered input from someone who’s been around long enough to understand the patterns.
“I don’t think my thoughts or perspective are the only ones,” he says. “But I have put the hard yards in. I’ve been doing this a long time, and I enjoy that people are interested in hearing what I have to say.”
One of Simon’s consistent messages to agents and business owners is the importance of staying connected to the market in real time; not in quarterly updates or national headlines, but in local activity.
“If you want to be an area expert, you need to be in your market, living and breathing it every minute of every day,” he says.
“You need to be monitoring every auction, every sale, every bit of movement that goes on. You can’t compare one out-of-line result and think that makes you an expert.”
It’s advice that applies to teams as much as it does to individuals.
“It filters through everyone in the company. The person at the top can’t carry that alone, it has to be embedded in the culture.”
Simon says the past year has already seen some interesting shifts.
“Some of the market has softened, and in some areas there’s a lot more stock coming on. That means more opportunities than we’ve seen in a long time, but you need to be watching closely to take advantage of it.”
As for how agents and professionals can respond to those shifts, Simon is clear: “You’ve got to pivot quickly. That means understanding not just what’s selling, but why it’s selling, and how your area compares. That kind of awareness is everything.”
“Cutting edge tools to help you sell and find your next vendor are also critical. Take the view.resi solution for example, which includes the view.com.au portal, the digital marketing tool Acquire and AI services from Propic has delivered an unbelievable 27% increase in Open for inspection attendees for Place in the Brisbane of New Farm. I wouldn’t be selling property without it”
Finally, Simon says the first month into the partnership has been hugely satisfying.
“We’re only just kicking off. It’s a 12-month campaign, and the feedback so far has been great, lots of excitement, really well received. It’s just the beginning.”
As for what excites him most about the collaboration moving forward, Simon doesn’t hesitate.
“I just think it’s going to be fun. They’re a cool brand, a fun brand, and they’re serious about offering real expertise and solutions to their customers and audience. That aligns with what I enjoy and what I stand for.”
