The Agency announced via the ASX that Geoff Lucas will take the role of Managing Director and CEO effective 28 January 2022.
Mr Lucas has held the position of Group CEO of The Agency since March this year.
The move comes from a company board desire to have a Managing Director based on the eastern seaboard.
The Agency Chairman, Andrew Jensen, says he is confident that the new leadership team will be able to drive what the board see as a significant growth opportunity.
“Geoff’s appointment as Managing Director and CEO comes at a time when we are focussed on rapidly increasing our business on the East Coast, having successfully established The Agency Group in Western Australia, where we have a market share of approximately 5 per cent,” said Mr Jensen.
Mr Lucas says he too sees a significant opportunity moving into 2022.
“Substantial growth opportunities remain across the Eastern Seaboard for an increased presence, and I look forward to leading The Agency’s team as we continue to grow into the new geographic regions,” said Mr Lucas.
The release also mentions that Paul Niardone will remain an integral member of The Agency team with his appointment to the role of Executive Director.
Mr Niardone will have responsibility for continuing to grow the Western Australian real estate business, driving the expansion of both the financial services division and The Sell Lease Property real estate business.
Mr Jensen said the board are grateful to Mr Niardone for the role he has played in the growth and expansion of the company to date.
“Paul has steered The Agency through both highly successful and challenging times.
“He has built one of Australia’s leading real estate firms with over 340 agents nationally, selling 4,964 properties in FY 21.
“Having overseen the growth of The Agency brand nationally, we look to the key role Paul will play in overseeing the national growth of the SLP brand, together with the role he will play in driving financial services and a range of technology-based initiatives.”
