Ray White Western Australia CEO Mark Whiteman said he is delighted to recognise Ms Yap as the first agent across the network to reach Chairman’s Elite status this financial year.Â
The Announcement:
Off the back of a fantastic 2021-22 financial year, Ray White Dalkeith | Claremont principal Vivien Yap has become the first agent internationally to reach Ray White’s top performer ranking of Chairman’s Elite.
The criteria for Chairman’s Elite membership is such that it will be awarded to the top one per cent of agents across the group for their performance in the financial year. For Ms Yap to achieve this status in September is remarkable.
Being recognised as the first Chairman’s Elite member for this year comes after a very busy period for Ms Yap where she has been recognised for many significant awards.
She was recently awarded top principal last financial year at the group’s Western Australian awards, while her office was recognised as the top business in the state. She was also ranked number two in the top principal award category internationally.Â
In honour of her contribution to Ray White, she also received the Ross Whiteman Cup. Each year, the award is given, not based on metrics but in recognition of an incredible contribution that has shaped and changed the Ray White Group in Western Australia.
Ms Yap said her focus on nurturing her clients and her team is at the forefront of her success along with the support she receives from her family.
“My success comes down to the great support I have around me and when I talk about support, I don’t just mean at work but also the family support that allows me to carry out my daily routine,” Ms Yap said.
“I am very disciplined in not just processes but also in nurturing my clients leading up to the day of either listing, launching or getting a property open.
“Word of mouth is also very important to us. We do get referrals constantly and of course the accolades both myself and my business have received from Ray White and the wider industry is a great way to attract really good quality colleagues to come and join me.
“Overall, we have an amazing culture within my team, within the office and throughout the Ray White organisation.”
Ray White Group chairman Brian White often says ‘there is no finish line’, an ethos that Ms Yap lives by.
“There’s no end point to how much you can grow. I think a lot of people think they have to draw a line in the sand,” Ms Yap said.
“Don’t give yourself a goal that you can’t completely smash, so I do break it down to bite sized goals but at the same time don’t let go of your dream. Make yourself available to do everything you can possible to make it happen.”
And to other agents in the industry, Ms Yap said the most important advice she can give is to always be relevant in your marketplace.
“Other agents may operate in a different space, suburb, median price and clientele but they should always be relevant to the clients they are talking to. And whatever they do, they need to be in alignment with what they are trying to achieve,” she said.
“If they want to do 25 or 50 more sales, they can’t just talk about it, they have to implement it. There are no shortcuts in life.
“It’s great to learn a lot but if you’re not implementing it then it’s just entertainment. What we do is implement one thing at a time. It can be overwhelming but I’m not greedy, I do one thing at a time and that success brings me so much satisfaction.”
Ray White Western Australia CEO Mark Whiteman said he is delighted to recognise Ms Yap as the first agent across the network to reach Chairman’s Elite status.
“It’s exciting for Western Australia to have someone like Vivien leading the way,” Mr Whiteman said.
“Vivien has elevated everyone in our family, she has raised our expectations and made us all better. She is a wonderful ambassador and an example of what is possible.
“We are excited about how far we can push the limits of performance with Vivien as our example.
“Vivien has achieved, in less than two months, an incredible milestone, Ray White Chairman’s Elite. It is exciting to consider what she may achieve by the end of the year.
“We are enormously proud of Vivien and her achievements and very grateful that she chooses Ray White to support her growth.”
Ray White Group managing director Dan White said, “Ms Yap continues to inspire all of us in the group. To achieve Chairman’s Elite membership in September is astonishing.”
