It was sheer determination that got Bryce Bevan over the line as he and more than 25 other novice auctioneers made their bids for the 2019 REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition.
Mr Bevan, a Bloodstock Consultant with Inglis, was crowned the champion in front of excited bidders, supporters and industry leaders at Sydneyโs iconic Customs House recently.
โIโm absolutely ecstatic to be crowned the 2019 NAC Champion,โ Mr Bevan said.
โI feel very privileged and honoured to join such an illustrious group of people who have won the competition and gone on to greater and bigger things within the real estate industry.โ
NAC Head Judge Clarence White said Mr Bevan competed in three NAC heats before securing a place in the final.
โWith each performance he demonstrated marked improvement, culminating in a confident display at the finals,” Mr White said.
The NAC is a platform for the stateโs would-be and up-and-coming auctioneers to try their hand at auctioneering. Each participant auctions a luxury item of their choice with funds raised in the heats and the final going directly to REINSWโs 2019 charity partner, Domestic Violence NSW (DVNSW).
REINSW President Leanne Pilkington said the charity had significance for many people in the industry.
โReal estate agents spend a lot of time in people’s homes and have a unique insight into their lives,โ she said.
โDomestic violence is a shameful aspect of our culture and we have a responsibility to offer support where we can, and where it is safe to do so.โ
