Sotheby’s joins luxury brands in new Brisbane precinct

Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty (QSIR) is relocating its head office in Brisbane to an integrated luxury lifestyle precinct which puts them under the same roof as other up-market brands.

The world-class flagship Breakfast Creek Wharf facility from Hong Kong-based multinational conglomerate, Lei Shing Hong Limited (LSH Property), is also home to some of the countryโ€™s most exclusive high-end brands, including the largest Mercedes-Benz showroom in the Southern Hemisphere.

Covering an entire waterfront block on the city side of Breakfast Creek at Newstead, the five-level Lifestyle Centre has been heralded as a โ€˜game-changerโ€™ for the Australian retail market and a reflection of how luxury brands of the future will integrate.

QSIR Owner and CEO Paul Arthur said the centre was an ideal fit for them as it will allow Sothebys to align with other prestige brands, such as Mercedes-Benz Brisbane, to service a similar clientele.

โ€œThere is a great synergy for us to be in that location, offering us an opportunity to cross-collaborate in a way that I believe has never been done before, certainly in the Australian market,โ€ Mr Arthur said.

โ€œThe traditional real estate shop is dying, customers โ€“ especially customers in the luxury market โ€“ expect to be serviced in a more contemporary way.โ€

Mr Arthur said he sees the LSH Property Australiaโ€™s investment in the Breakfast Creek location and he shares their confidence in the future of Australia and, in particular, Brisbane.

โ€œWe have always been very bullish on the Queensland market,โ€ Mr Arthur said.

โ€œBrisbane, in particular, continues to mature and grow as a city. This iconic Lifestyle Centre in Brisbane, which is being delivered by one of the worldโ€™s most prestigious brands, shows enormous confidence in the city and its luxury market.โ€

In addition to the opportunities the relocation would afford QSIRโ€™s clientele, Mr Arthur said there would also be a host of benefits for staff.

โ€œWe aim to be an employer of choice in the real estate market, and this location will only enhance that,โ€ he said.

โ€œFrom a business perspective, the location gives our sales executives a significant advantage in the luxury market.โ€

LSH Property Australia Non-Executive Director Paul Betar said the development breaks the boundaries of traditional retail to create an immersive experience across innovation, food and wine, design, health and wellness and culture

He said the arrival of Sothebyโ€™s International Realty Queensland was a major step in the establishment of the LSH Lifestyle Centre as โ€œa Brisbane luxury lifestyle precinct without peerโ€.

โ€œOur vision for this site was always to create a destination that complements the Mercedes-Benz Brisbane anchor tenant and reflects the lifestyle needs and aspirations of the discerning customer,โ€ Mr Betar said. โ€œWe believe this will be an Australia-first concept, where you can purchase a prestige home and a prestige vehicle under the one roof.โ€
