Hard work pays off for top-performing agentsĀ

LJ Hooker agents across Australia and New Zealand are striving for excellence with many inducted into the Captain’s Club.

The Announcement:

A stellar year of sales has seen an unprecedented number of agents recognised for achieving record commissions for their office, some more than $1 million in annual GCI, across the LJ Hooker property network in Australia and New Zealand.

These top-ranking performers have been inducted into what is known into LJ Hooker’s the ā€˜Captains Club’, a long-standing and high-performance program run by the real estate giant.

Figures for June, show the top 15 percent of LJ Hooker agents achieved gross commission of more than $466,793 pa. Those in the top seven percent of agents recorded a gross commission of more than $681,976, while 2.5 percent of agents recorded a gross commission of $1.095m or more.

Christine Mikhael, Chief Performance Officer of LJ Hooker Group, said while market conditions had been buoyant, the last 18 months had been a particularly challenging time for agents, requiring them to utilise all their expertise.

ā€œOur top performers have gone above and beyond and were not content to let the market do the work for them, and that is reflected in these outstanding figures,ā€ she said.

ā€œEven in a seller’s market it is about communicating with both vendors and buyers, creating the right marketing campaign, knowing how to price the property and of course negotiations.

ā€œStock has been very tight, with those looking to upgrade nervous about their ability to buy back into the same market, so this has also been another challenge for agents.ā€

Entry into the ā€˜Captains Club’ is determined by three separate categories – a nominated gross commission benchmark, number of sales transactions and those who reach the top 15 percent of overall results.

There is also a ā€˜Multi-Level’ chapter for agents in the top seven percent of sales and the ā€˜Diamond’ level which comprises of the top 2.5 percent of performers.

Those awarded ā€˜Captains Club’ entry can promote their success to clients through special marketing for 12-months and invited to professional development events. Those who make the Captains Club for 11 consecutive years become life members.

Stephen Mutton, LJ Hooker Head of Network Performance, said not a week goes by without an agent ringing to check if they have made it into the top performers bracket or just to double check their sales figures.

ā€œSalespeople love recognition, they are competitive individuals, and this is quite inspiring for the right person who is motivated and puts in the effort,ā€ he said.

LJ Hooker Property Centre agent Corinne Guterres, who is the top agent for Brisbane’s Mount Cotton, recently made it into the ā€˜Diamond’ chapter of Captains Club.

ā€œFor me, it has never been about the numbers but rather that people are trusting me with their biggest asset. Quite a few of my listings now come through recommendations and what people have read about me in reviews,ā€ she said.

ā€œI joined LJ Hooker in February 2019, so being admitted to Captains Club and progressing to the ā€˜Diamond’ chapter in a relatively short amount of time is an absolute honour. I am beyond proud of this achievement.ā€
