$8 million double apartment sale in The Horizon breaks records

A double apartment in Sydney’s The Horizon tower has sold for a record-setting $8 million.

According to realestate.com.au, the sale of the two luxury apartments in Darlinghurst, represents a record square metre rate of $35,000 per square.

The two combined apartments on the 34th floor offer 225sq m of living space with views to the city skyline, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and north to The Heads and the ocean.

The vendor was Geoff Selig, the executive chairman of marketing firm IVE Group, who previously attempted to sell the property in October 2020 with the four-bedroom, two-balcony space listed then with a $7.75 million to $7.95 million price guide.

The former NSW Liberal Party president moved into the Harry Seidler-designed high-rise in 2018 after paying $5.5 million to professor of linguistics Jack Richards and his partner Won Gyu Moon.
