If you’re a railfan or trainspotter, your love of trains is likely something that has been with you since you were just a child.
For those looking to reignite their passion, a former rail station in Scotland, that has been converted into a six-bedroom home, is yours to buy for US$600,000.
According to The Dirt, Saughtree Railway Station, which is about two hours south of Edinburgh, was closed in 1963 and converted into a residential home and now operates as a bed and breakfast.
Sitting on 1.1 acres, the 270sq m building now boasts six bedrooms and six bathrooms, while the original ticket office has been converted into a coffee station.
Throughout the building there is still plenty of railway memorabilia including the Saughtree Station sign and a ‘Staff Only’ plaque.
Five of the bedrooms are set up with their own ensuite and offer maximum privacy for guests, while there are also two further bedrooms connected to the ticket office/coffee station.
The kitchen looks out across the gardens and there is plenty of room for guests to gather around the large breakfast table.
Outside, the grounds boasts a number of large trees and also have plenty of wildlife passing through.
There’s also a terrace that is ideal for dining and entertaining and comes with views of the lawns and the hills while the house itself overlooks the train platform.
