Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard, best known for his roles in True Blood and Big Little Lies has put his Manhattan penthouse on the market for US$2.599 million.
According to The Dirt, Skarsgard paid $2.3 million for the one-bedroom, one-bathroom penthouse back in 2017, before undertaking extensive renovations.
The top floor apartment is in a 19th-century co-op building in the St Marks Historic District and boasts high exposed beam ceilings throughout, refurbished south-facing windows with pocket shutters, five skylights and original wide-plank pine floors.
The cosy unit features a combined living/dining room with a wood-burning marble fireplace embedded in an exposed brick wall, and a large casement window offering up a garden view.
The galley-style kitchen boasts European white oak cabinetry, Carrara marble countertops, and high-end Bertazzoni and Bosch appliances.
The compact primary suite is fitted with electric window shades and white oak floor-to-ceiling closets, along with a slate-floored bath and brass shower insert, and Waterworks and Duravit fixtures.
The complex includes a communal garden, live-in superintendent and basement storage lockers while Skarsgard’s apartment has roof rights, meaning the new owner could build a private roof deck overlooking the city.
