Initially listed at $8.25 million, the property attracted multiple offers, indicating robust interest despite its classic design, which doesn’t align with current decorative trends.
The home came into Hitchcock’s possession when he moved permanently to Los Angeles, several years after his initial move in 1939, according to the Robb Report.
The property was last owned by a businessman in the lumber and building supply sectors.
Tax records identify the new owner as a foreign corporate entity tied to Dutch media magnate Reinout Oerlemans, founder of Eyeworks TV production company.
Designed by Carlton Burgess, the same architect behind Jack Benny’s Beverly Hills residence, the English-Country-inspired home was renovated and expanded in 1983.
Hidden behind dense vegetation, the single-storey home stands on nearly two-thirds of an acre and covers more than 696sq m.
It currently has two bedrooms but has the potential for four, along with five bathrooms.
