After recently listing her Manhattan penthouse for US$15 million, comedian Amy Schumer is eyeing a move to Brooklyn, reportedly purchasing a 200-year-old townhouse for US$11 million.
According to The Dirt, the Inside Amy Schumer star and husband Chris Fischer made it very clear they were intending to move to Brooklyn and it appears the couple has purchased the same property featured in the 1987 Oscar-winning rom-com Moonstruck.
The townhouse was built in 1829 and has been painstakingly restored to maintain much of its original opulence.
The 200-year-old property has been updated with all the modern luxuries and includes 520sq m of living area spread across four storeys, a basement and a mansard roof.
There are four to five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms that feature both antique and new fittings, 30 windows and a handful of fireplaces with original marble mantelpieces.
Three guest and family bedrooms share the top floor with a hall bath and a second laundry area.
Other highlights include a full-floor double parlour divided by pocket doors, with the rear parlour spilling out to a terrace with stairs to the garden, and a full-floor primary suite that comprises two small studies, a wardrobe-lined dressing room and a spacious bathroom in which the shower is housed in a glass vitrine.
There’s also a small gym, a large laundry room and plenty of storage in the cellar below the library.
The deal hasn’t officially closed, and the sale price is yet to be confirmed but the asking price is US$11 million.
