The Real Estate Institute of Northern Territory (REINT) has announced its new Chief Executive Officer will be Aswin De Silva.
Mr De Silva will replace outgoing CEO Quentin Kilian, who has been in the position for the past 12 years.
Mr Kilian is moving to Victoria, where he will replace Gil King as CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV).
REINT President Diane Davis said Mr De Silva hails from Sydney and has a strong background in membership organisations, including American Express and NRMA.
He brings to the REINT a wealth of experience gained in Australia and internationally and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sri Lanka.
“Following a national search, we are delighted to have secured someone of Aswin’s calibre for this critical industry leadership role,” Ms Davis said.
Ms Davis also extended gratitude to Mr Kilian for his service over the past 12 years.
“On behalf of the REINT board, and sector more broadly, I thank Quentin Kilian for his tireless commitment to our members and skilful navigation of an often complex operating environment with a range of stakeholder interests,” Ms Davis said.
“Today, our organisation is on a firm financial footing, representing members across the Territory, and Quentin has been instrumental in establishing this strong position for the Institute.”
Mr Kilian welcomed Mr De Silva to the role.
“I have great confidence in Aswin’s capability in ensuring the voice of the real estate sector is heard at every level of government and that the sector continues to be recognised as a significant economic contributor to the Territory’s economy,” he said.
