Canberra’s Blackshaw Real Estate Group has launched operations at Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast as part of the brand’s continuing expansion.
Blackshaw Coastal has hit the ground running with some familiar faces on the team, including widely-known and trusted local salespeople Pat Jameson and Jessica Williams, and Cheyenne Hailes leading both the operations and property management arm of the office.
With a full-service offering including sales agents, auctioneers and property management, the final internal fit-outs of the Orient Street office are underway but the team is already working remotely.
Andrew and Belinda Chamberlain said the expansion has been on the cards since they took the reins at Blackshaw Real Estate Group in 2019.
“We have always felt there has been a strong connection between the Canberra and South Coast communities and the need for a bond within the real estate industry connecting the two,” Mr Chamberlain said.
“The Blackshaw brand is unique. We offer the quality marketing and personal touches of a boutique agency, with the added service and connections of a substantial franchise network.
“We have a number of clients right across Canberra that own investment properties or holiday homes across the South Coast, and many with family that still call the area home.
“This move allows us to further serve the needs of those clients, as well as giving new local clients in the South Coast region access to our Canberra network of buyers.”
While many brands within the real estate industry in Canberra are still finding their feet on the back of some very challenging months, Mrs Chamberlain said the Blackshaw team has remained focused on their goals for growth.
“We believe what sets us apart from so many others is both our culture and our passion for community,” Mrs Chamberlain said.
“Our entire Blackshaw family have come together over the past few weeks to pull through and offer support wherever we can, and to whoever we can. Our brand has so much heart that it just feels natural for us to extend this commitment to the South Coast region.”
Whilst very much looking forward to ‘cutting the ribbon’ on their brand new premises, the local team has become adept at working remotely and couldn’t wait to launch the brand within the Bay.
“It is a critical part of our new venture, and incredibly important to us, that we engage local services and tradespeople to get the office up and running. Even if it takes a little longer due to the demand on those businesses right now,” Mrs Chamberlain said.
The pandemic has come on the back of bushfires that devastated the area earlier this year, and Mr Chamberlain explained that helped them make the decision to expand to Batemans Bay.
“We felt compelled to work with the local community as they work hard at getting back on their feet and rebuilding this economy,” he said.
“The best way we knew how to do that was to work hard at providing a real connection between the Canberra and South Coast real estate markets that, to date, hasn’t really existed.”
While the office expects to officially open its doors and welcome clients and friends in the coming weeks, the Blackshaw Coastal team are well and truly getting on with the job – meeting clients and listing homes.
