A sprawling property on Wategos Beach at Byron Bay was on the market for less than a week before breaking the area’s price record, netting just shy of $22 million.
The property was listed by LJ Hooker Byron Bay agent Glenn Irwin and Michael Coombs of LJ Hooker Anvu, and was previously owned by Geoff Morgan, founder of Morgan & Banks.
Morgan paid $1.2 million for the property in 1994; a fraction of the 2020 asking price, but itself an area record back in the ’90s.
The property boasts two storeys, five bedrooms, 100-year-old timber throughout, and an infinity pool.
It smashed Bryon Bay’s previous price record of $18.85m, which was set last year by Eli Havas and Adam Gilchrist, the founder of F45.
