COVID-19 has accelerated the trend of virtual communication, especially in the real estate world, where virtual walk-throughs, inspections, and auctions quickly became the norm.
UK company Homehow has compared YouTube analytics for 131 celebrity house tours uploaded from 2013 onwards, to gauge the world’s favourite – and least favourite – celebrity homes.
Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye’s house tour has the highest number of views, with an impressive 52,080,000 views.
This is followed by rapper Wiz Khalifa, who has scored 42,738,000 views on Architectural Digest, pop star Zedd with 23,647,000 views of his $16million mansion, and Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez with 41,611,000 and 33,307,000 views respectively.
It is surprise to see Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner so popular, given their houses are regularly featured on their long-running TV series.
The rest of the top 10 list:
6. Taylor Swift: 29,027,000 views
7. Jessica Alba: 28,942,000 views
8. David Dobrik: 23,238,000 views
9. Priyanka Chopra: 22,133,000 views
10. Robert Downey Jr.: 20,147,000 views
Keep in mind, this is purely based on views. In regards to the like/dislike ratio, as featured on YouTube, Michael B Jordan, star of The Wire, Friday Night Lights and Black Panther, had the best ratio, with 3000 dislikes in comparison to 331,000 likes (99.1 per cent).
Second is Saoirse Ronan, followed by Canadian actor and writer, Dan Levy.
On the flipside, Girls’ creator Lena Dunham has the highest ratio of dislikes in comparison to likes, with 17,000 dislikes and just 14,000 likes, followed by Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu pad, and Lance Armstrong’s Aspen home tour with Architectural Digest.
It’s worth pointing out these three are quite controversial figures, and therefore the dislike is probably not aimed at the property.
